Dry Leafs Scrape October Sidewalks- A poem from A Beautiful Violation

Wandering avenues, looking for reason
Discovering what I have inherited

Sharp edges surround kind strangers
I shake nervously, under skin

Animals stir behind this smile
Here, finding my original body

Drawn out by subtle suggestions
I followed grey-green eyes

Freezing rain sinks into sand
Forgiving, like a deceitful memory

She counts fragments at daylight
Kissing the parts long forgotten

Her light illuminates every crack
Finding reason in silent whispers
