ADDICT- A Poem from A Beautiful Violation #poetry

dark

They meant nothing to me
Porcelain dolls I played with on puppet strings

Not you

You’re the marionette I dance for
You gave me life and reason
Making me walk away

From myself

I’m this person because of these ghosts
Distant memories that no longer haunt me

I swear

Fall into me

Liquefy

Merge

Become more
Than we
Really are

My phone lights up across the room

Eyes lock

Lips quiver

The tears
Tell me
She knows
