FAST DIVORCE #poem #poetry

sunscape

Black asphalt
Echoing taillights racing dawn

We lose ourselves
Or at least try

Her touch
Can still make me smile in times like these

Make me forget
All I’ve done

She holds the inside of my leg
And it all melts

Night moves like dreams
And premises fall to the roadside

Endless blue escapes
And races down her cheeks

Reminding me what
We do for love

Distant house lights
Engulfed in darkness

Asphalt ends
And we find the nothingness

I can’t turn fast
Things shift in the trunk

And awaken questions
I can’t answer
